Sydney Hackathon General Description

Sydney Hackathon – A 24hr Application Development Competition

Slug: Create innovative science applications using open APIs in a 24hr coding competition with food, entertainment and prizes.

Text: Sydney Hackathon is a new 24 hour application development competition aimed at fostering innovation and creativity among developers using open APIs.

Teams of participants compete against each other to develop apps for science using data and APIs from Elsevier’s SciVerse and ScienceDirect platforms, which include over 10 million scientific publications from 2600 journals.

The competition runs over 30hrs with 24hrs coding time. Workshops, food and chill out areas are provided throughout the competition, and teams are eligible for up to $1500 in prizes.

Developers and designers, students from any University in Australia or full time developers, are invited to enter the competition.
